Forest Path Stole:
The Forest Path Stole is coming along well and I'm now half way through tier 10. So far I've had no major problems figuring out the pattern. As you can see, I skipped the seed stitch border and plan to do a knitted on border. I'm using Zephyr in the colour Jade.
Balmoral Thistle:
This pattern is from Marianne Kinzel's Second Book of Modern Lace Knitting. I'm using JaggerSpun Super Fine Merino 2/18 in the colour Raspberry, and 3mm needles. I've completed charts A and B. Would you believe I've messed up probably one of the easiest rows in the whole pattern. There are over 504 stitches/row and I have to undo two rows!

Nice blog. I love lots of pictures, especially of lace work.
If I understand your FPS correctly you just started the pattern after the seed stitch boarder? I'm thinking maybe I should start mine here too as my first boarder is never the same gauge as my cast off boarder. This would alleviate the problem and give me a nice even look to the shawl. I'll have to take a look at the pattern again, but I think you just started with the first tiers first panel and continued from there?
