Quick Update

This is going to be a quick one. I admire all of those people who blog regularly. I’m trying very hard to blog and least once a week but it is really hard. There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day for all the things I want to do.

Thank you, everyone who commented, for your well wishes. It was very hard for me to decide to start selling my patterns but so far it has been a very positive experience.

Carla asked if Merilyn’s Stole will be published and the answer is “Yes”. I’m working on it but it will take some time. Egunn wanted to know about the lace cardigan. I’m working on that one also. I’m hoping to have these patterns available soon.

I just couldn’t do a post without a few pictures so here are some of the other things I’ve been up to.

Woven FOs: I'm still having problems in inconsistent tapping but thanks to a wonderful weaver at my guild the problem might be solved. I'll see with the next project.

Socks from yarn dyed by a local hand dyer. I'm planning on re-knitting the top two inches to tighten up the ribbing.

Two new designs. I wanted to make sure that the patterns worked with hand painted yarns so I tested them out on the most difficult yarns in my stash. Both are Hand Maiden's cashmere/silk 2ply in Sangria and Woodland.

Happy knitting.

A brand new day!

Oh my poor neglected blog. It’s hard to believe that I haven’t posted since January. I’ve been a bit pre-occupied, but I have to try to do better. It has been a busy time of knitting and designing and teaching all kinds of classes at my LYS.

So many things have changed I started this blog last year. First I lost my job, and then I moved into a much smaller space in a different part of the city. I am working towards simplifying my life. I started teaching at my LYS and realise that I’m pretty go at it.

I’ve also, finally, started selling my designs on-line. I can’t tell you how nervous I am. At first I was not sure if I really wanted to do this. Then I started selling them in my LYS and though “Why not on-line?”. I’m just testing the waters so for now I have two patterns available. Hopefully I’ll be able to add more of my designs. Since these patterns are already being sold in print, it would not be right for me to sell them for less than the sell for locally. So for those of you, not into instant gratification, I’ve provided the option to get the print version.

Here are just a few of the things I’ve been working on.
